Like the AD-40A, the AD-400 can eliminate up to 40 pints of moisture from the
air per day - much more than almost any other portable dehumidifier in its
class. Also included are rolling casters and a convenient carrying handle for
easy maneuverability, as well as a 24-hour timer, an ionizer for cleaner air,
and an activated carbon filter to tackle odors. However, the AD-400 also comes
with an adjustable humidistat that lets you set the unit to dry the air to
the level you choose and can be adjusted from 40% to 80% in increments of 5%.
Furthermore, the NewAir AD-400 can be operated in low temperatures, and the
automatic defrost function prevents quick cycling.

Size: Although the super-compact AD-400 weighs
only 25 pounds, don't let its size fool you. It
actually works just as well (if not better) than larger,
bulkier units. 
"I needed a dehumidifier that would work for a single room. I tried a couple of different brands, but the power supply always failed on me, plus they didn't quite do the job well enough. This one does a great job of pulling out the humidity, and I'm very happy with it. However, the owner's manual leaves a little to be desired as far as explanation of the functions goes, and I still haven't figured out the "Timer" button, It turns off', but doesn't come back on again, which I thought it would. Is it not working, or is it just me not knowing how to use it?
I was very pleased with its sleek and modern styling. The only thing I would change would be the carrying handle. The somewhat squared-off edges of it make it a little uncomfortable to carry, but for the short distances I carry it, it's not a big deal. I would definitely recommend this product to others. It's a perfect intermediate-sized dehumidifier, and it really pulls the moisture out of the air."
