Review Title: Amazing results
Comments: After researching brands of dehumidifiers, this particular Danby rated well above the rest. We needed 2, one for basement living area and other for garage. So far, it is living up to the reputation- our finished basement is dry and comfortable and garage is as well. It's doing everything it promised!

Comments: Everything you said about this unit is great. Easy to use and setting it up. The only thing I have a problem with is the one room has plush carpeting in it and it is hard to roll over it. I would give this unit a 100% RATING and recommend it to my friends or anybody else.

Comments: I needed to replace an old dehumidifier for the basement, which is partially finished, but has some dampness due to the high ground water of my property. The unit I bought, the 90 pt., recommended by the recent review in Consumer's Report, really handles the entire basement. It hooks up easily to the garden hose and empties directly into the sump. The unit is quiet-I can't even hear it upstairs-and the basement is warm now that the humidity is low. I think if the unit was in a living area, the fan would be annoying, since it runs constantly. I haven't tried to use the timer, but the other controls are simple to adjust.

Review Title: DDR7009REE
Comments: I use this dehumidifier in my basement, and it has sufficient capacity to keep the humidity level at a comfortable level without running constantly. It usually gets the job done by running a little less than 12 hours out of 24. The compressor and the product packaging deserve high marks...but not the electronic controls. I don't know if I have a defective unit or if this is a product design issue--but once the dehumidifier kicks on...it runs and runs and runs until turned off manually. It does not stop when it reaches the humidity level I have set. At 750 watts, that could get pretty expensive and would probably cause the unit to wear out too soon. My solution was to buy the Tjernlund DH-10 dehumidistat (available from prothermostats.com) as an external control. I use it to turn the power to the dehumidifier on and off based on the humidity in the room. It works just fine...but sure would have been nice if the dehumidifier was designed and constructed with this functionality built-in.

Comments: The dehumidifier has an attractive appearance, it is reasonably quiet, and nearest I can tell at this point--it delivers in terms of its capacity for humidity removal. I like the remote control but wish it included a function for changing the target humidity. There is one negative--when turned on, the fan runs continuously; It does not have a setting to cycle on only when the compressor is running. The fan draws about 90 watts of power on the high setting and about 80 watts on the low setting. When the compressor is not running, this is a waste of electricity--as the fan serves little purpose.
