Review Title: Good but a little difficult on drainage
Comments: It's a wonderful machine, how ever I wish there was a bigger dehumidifier catch pan and more accessible to get to the plug for it. Or have it extended so you can drain it better, so for the money that was a let down. Other than it is a great machine, with lots of good features and works and cools very well, thank you!

Review Title: Portable room A/C
Comments: The unit is easy to use and really blows the cold air and keeps the room cool. However, I am not sure what I expected, but it is a little louder than I expected. I would still buy it again. Bring on the summer!!!

Review Title: I think maybe I should've researched more
Comments: I was encouraged to consider a portable AC when, in my 1Br NYC apartment, my bedroom window is the fire escape and I didn't want it permanently blocked with a window AC. I found this site in a google search, and I found this unit because they were offering free shipping and no tax. First, the machine came on time and the box, nor the product, were damaged at all. The box is every bit the bulkiness and weight it says; luckily we had a dolly to help us carry it into the house and up stairs. Next, I was told 13,000 BTUs would supply cool temperatures to my entire 550 sq foot, 1 br apartment with about 12 foot ceilings, but this is definitely not the case. I have tried on several occasions to leave the unit in the living room window, but even with my bedroom door open, I can't feel a change whatsoever. And the temperature on the "cold" setting never really wavers. If not for the FANTASTIC fan on the unit, I'd be pretty unhappy with the unit. Next, the directions aren't very thorough with regard to proper installation in the window. Luckily, however, it is fairly self explanatory, but it is a bit frustrating. Finally, I called the great customer service to make sure I was using the unit properly. I was told to keep the unit on "auto" that would both dehumidify and cool and would maximize the cooling capacity of the unit. This unit, considering it works on producing water, DOES NOT WORK WELL IN HUMID ENVIRONMENTS. The unit fills completely with water about every 3 hours, beeps and shuts off, which obviously when it is happening all night long is awfully annoying inconvenient. The "dry" works nicely when it is humid to cool by removing humidity, but it is HARDLY cold. And even when the air isn't too humid, the "cold" or "auto" mode still causes the unit to fill with water within a few hours, thus causing a lot of discontinuity in the cooling. In short, consider doing a lot of research before buying this product. I haven't gotten my electric bill just yet, but I am interested to see. Had I really understood the high-maintenance of draining the unit every few hours, I'm not sure I would've purchased it. Now that I have, though, I suppose it gets the job done.

Review Title: My Newair acp1300e 13,00btu
Comments: I have not put the unit to the true test as of yet 85+ degree dry heat here in El Cajon. However so far I would say it's a very good product. It was easy to set up and is fairly quiet. The air circulation is very good it sends air both up and down and side to side... I am hoping that it will be able to keep my small bedroom at about 72 degrees when the summer heat kicks in. Only time will tell but it seems to really pump out some cold air and hasn't froze up on me yet. This unit was far superior to the Sunpentown portable air conditioner that I bought and returned 2 years ago...I would recommend it for a small room!

Review Title: Portable air conditioner
Comments: It does not do the job that I thought it would do, but it still helps my upstairs from being so brutally hot. It is also very loud. All in all I would recommend to a friend.

Review Title: NewAir ACP-1300E review
Comments: The A/C unit works well, though the condensate tanks filled up in a few hours using it in my home in a high 80 degree day with moderate humidity. Because of this, I bought a plastic hose and fit it onto the condensate drain and just took off the stopper on the drain plug. I elevated the unit onto a step stool and ran the hose attached to the drain tank into a 1 gallon pail. This way, I can run it for a day without the unit shutting down because the condensate tank is full. Other than that, the unit works well!
